Literature Text
Fox carcass, yipping skull facing south
On the turn-around, half circle like a pill
We swallow the clouded night full
As stars snatch quick looks
At our curious haze

Literature
I Found It.
A breeze washed over
the shivering hills
allowing them to rise and
fall
like a mothers gentle hush
Quieting the sun-rays
to curl within the drops of dew
and nestle atop the trees
catching flight
upon a beating butterfly
and dispersing amongst
spinning auburn creeks.
the wind gently tugged
at a mass of wild hair
Strays unraveling
as invisible
fingertips
danced through the
songbirds lullaby.
Fingers lost in buttercups
and eyes merely resting
where the sky meets the earth
laughing in colorful shades
and spinning
in the watery sunset.
I have found happiness.
Literature
Famine
i told him
i wanted to spend
three days
paying my dues
to the circumference
of my spine, to the size
of my stomach,
and all
that was not in it.
weary
of my constant need,
he droned
a platitude
in a voice like cold coffee.
"you're beautiful
the way you are."
i don't care
about beauty.
i care about hunger.
loneliness & starving
sisters. and i want to know
if the hunger that turns you
inside out
every day
is anything like
the famine
in me.
Literature
i only asked for the end of the world
"i found shadows in the sun again,"
i looked at her
with a gleam of sarcasm in my eyes,
as she looked down with wind in her hair.
the night looked lovely on her.
the purple of post-nebula progression
it made her eyes look electric blue
though they were a soft green.
"i said, i found shadows on the sun again."
she'd never look up unless
she couldn't breathe and needed
to pull a sigh out of her butterfly winged lungs.
and that bothered me;
- she'd refuse to breathe
only because the air seemed
un-enough.
she'd give up so easily sometimes.
i run out of pretty things to say
